Deputations to the Premier.
I Per Press Association.! Auckland, December 6. In reply to a deputation representing the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters, which waited on the Premier to offer several suggestions with regard to the cooperative system recently introduced in tbe construction of public buildings, the Premier said he would be glad for those in the trade to meet and send their suggestions to him With regard to works of this sort he agreed that the price for the various classes of work should be based on the prices ruling in the particular dis» tricts. He recognised also that in future overseers for building work would need to be men with a practical knowledge of such work. A deputation of the Early Closing Association also waited on the Premier, thanking him re the Shop Hours Act and expressing the hope that next year Government would abolish the large number of exemptions. The Premier said the siigße6tio» of the Association's executive would be duly considered.
