A Letter From Coolgardie.
A young man who left '♦ Peep-o'-dajr* for Coolgardie, wrote as follows to his uncle under date, August 13th. "I am all rigbt. lam about 120 miles east of Coolgardie. I intended at first to go to Lake Cary but when within about 50 miles of it we heard of a rush about 12 miles off the road. We stopped there for about two weeks. I only got 13 dwta of gold. It was a very poor rush. Then we came back 100 miles to prospect in the hills where we are now. We liad to cart water 20 miles so you see we had pretty hard times of it, but we are in good spirits now. We struck a very rich reef a few days ago. You can see gold shining in the stone. We have sunk about 6 feet and the stone seems to be getting richer. We got some splendid specimens — more gold than stone, We have good water within 3 miles of the reef which we are going to call " The Auckland. "^^^^^^^^^
