General Feilding visited the greater portion of the Manchester Block yesterday. He visited the Colyton school and addressed the children. He will leave Feilding this afternoon for Wellington. They marry and have children before they have moustaches." Those of tho public who remember tho talented Payne family of entertainers will be interested to learn that a few days ago Dr Low, of Ballarat, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Alice Maude Payne, ono of the Company. Mr J. H. Stevens, Mho has boon absent on leave, resumed charge of tho Post Office to-daj'. Tho relieving officer, Mr Ganuaway, left in the afternoon. It appears that Messrs Gorton and Son, auctioneers, sold a piano at Bulls, Mr Drury, of Awahuri, being the purchaser. Mr Drury then sued the auctioneers for the value of the piano aud cost of removal to Awahuri. Mr Brabant, in giving judgment, hold that the auctioneer did not intend to sscrt personal ownership of the piano, and as a sale of personal chattels implies an affirmation by tho vendor that the chattel is his, there was no implied undertaking that tho plaintiff should have a good title to the piano.
