The Hawera Star says ;— ln answer to an inquiry by a gentleman in Manaia, J. C Blackmoro, Government Pomologist replies as follows :•— " Your memo to hand likewise the box containing peaoh leaves, which I notice are affected with peach curl — a fungoid disease which attacks the peach. This fungus can be combatted with the following remedies, viz., Bor deaux mixture and ammomacal carbonate of copper mixture used as a Bpray, the first-named bufare the leaves open, the latter (ust as the leaves expand, a second after the blossoms fall, the third application eleven days after the second. The remedies are preventative rather than remedial and should therefore be applied early. To make Bordeaux use sulphate of copper Gibs dissolved in 10 gallons of water ; lye, fresh 41b in 0 gallons water, j Strain, add all together and it is ready i for use,
