Apiti Sports.
A meeting of the Apiti Sports Committee was hold last Saturday, tho 17th iust.,iu Mr Eagar's Apiti Hotol. Tliere was a good attendance. Mr Thompson reported ou behalf of the Ground Committee that the working bee held last Friday and Saturday was a great success, and had just about finished the course, which, when completed would be all that runners could desire. It was decided to call for tenders for tho privileges iv connection with the sports, tenders close ou tho 30th iust. It was resolved in the jumping competition for horses, to bar horses that had rau ou a public racecourse. The followiug were olected as a coucert committee — Messsrs Woolven, Osborne, Dally and Byrne. The secretary was instructed to get the tickets and programmes for the concert aud dance printed as soon as possible. It was further resolved that the subscription lists be handed to the secretary by next meeting night, Ist December. Considerable interest was shown in the proceedings aud if the weather is fino thero should be a large attendance at the sports.
