THE FEILDING BUILDING SOCIETY. « The Mauager of the above has forwarded us a copy of the first Annual Report and Balance-^heet of the Society, which discloses a very satisfactory condition of affairs. The total receipts from all sources were £18*26 12s 10d, and have been expended in mortgages £1685 8s 9d, preliminary expenses £41 10s S)d, printing rules £10, valuation fee £1 Is, cheque book £3 7s 6d, aud manager's honorarium £12 12b, leaving a balance in hand of £71 3s 10d, from which sum £45 0s lOd has been paid to shareholders. The gross profit for the eight months' working of the Society was £84 19s Id, aud the net amount, after allowing for all expenses of floating the Society and twelve months' management, was £50 19s lOd, At a meeting of the Direc 1 tors held last Tuesday, the usual authorisations were made and applications for new advances considered. As a steady means of saving money there can bo no question this Society holds out special advantages for men who are only in receipt of moderate wages or incomes. The monthly payments are small, but in a very few years their aggregate makes a very respectable sum. To investors who take up Capital Shares interest amounting to seven per cent is guarau- j teed, and promptly paid at the end of each year. The securityis undoubted, the Society being registered in terms of the Act of Parliament made nnd provided there-anent. The management is conducted on the most economical scale, and the expenses reduced to a miuiinum, wMie the Doard of directors and the Manager, Mr Edmund Goodbohere, enjoy tho fullest confiilonco of the shareholders The operations of the Society have already proved beneficial to tho town, as several new and handsome buildings erec od under its auspices amply testify. As tho town of Foilding enlarges, so will the capabilities of tho Society to help be enlarged. «• It will grow with its growth and 6treng then with its strength." Private individuals, business men, f irme:s, and settlers, are all, thereforo, intorested in the advancement of tho Society, and should cordially helpespecially when they will get such good returns for their mon«y invested.
