Mr Williams, of North Shore, Auckland has presented Mr Thomas Roberts with a handsoiua gold medal in recognition of his semces in saving the life of his daughter Miss Williams at the wrack of the Wairarapa. The medal is of appropriate design an anchor encircled by a lifebelt, with monogram. On the reverse is an inscription expressive of the donor's gratitude for the service rendered. Mrs Baldwin who with her child was drowntd at the wreck of the Wairarapa, was a sister of Mr F. Meyrick, senr, of Palmerston. The deceased lady had been on a trip to Sydney for the benefit of her health.
