New Zealand Produce in Germany.

Mr Henry Wollerman of Palmerston North, returned yesterday by the Gothic after a very interesting trip to Germany, accompanied by Mrs >Vollerman and their two daughters. Mr Woilerman while in Germany took the opportunity to exploit the markets in that country for New Zealand produce, and had with him some Manawatu butter and cheese, some apples which he plucked in Palmerston, flax and other samples He had also ordered a sheep and lamb, frozen, but unfortunately they were delayed, and so were useless lor his purposes. Mr "ollerman finds that the extreme duty of lfa j per lb in Germany on imported butter and cheese would seriously hamper trade between New Zealand nnd Germany in those two Classes of produce. There •hould. however, be a very profitable market for fruit which is admitted free. He took tome stone pippins, picked green in Palmerston, which were in splendid condition three weeks after they reached Berlin. They were packed in paper in an ordinary oase and were not kept in the cold chamber- He is certain that with shops established in Dortmund, the large manufacturing centre of Germany where New Zealand produce of the best kind would be effectively displayed, markets of every class ot goods including butter and cheese, would be readily secured mas* much as the produce from this Colony is far superior to that now sold in Germany. A business of great profit could at once be opened up in wool.— Times.
