A Bitt Within the Lute.
The Manawatu Standard says:— lt has been suggested to us by an outside exhibitor at the Manawatu A. and P. Show, that there is a good deal of dissatisfaction existing owing to the fact that housed stock are allowed to compete with all classes of stock exhibited, with the natural result that the latter class is not only placed at great disadvantage, but that a false estimate is arrived at as to what are really the best animals for the ordinary farmer. It is even asserted that the agitation to hold a show at Feilding is to a great extent based upon this very ground, and that if some improvement is not made in this respect, the result will not be at all in favor of the Association. Of course we are not in a position to say whether this view is a correct one, but it is well that causes of discontent should be investigated and remedies devised, and we feel sure that the matter has only to be brought under the notice of the capable men forming the committee of management to ensure its receiving the attention it deserves.
