YOUNG CONQUEROR is a beauti. ful blaok horse, with splendid bone, temper, and symmetrical proportions, and is, no doubt, one of the Best Draught Stallions bred in the colony. Young Conqueror was bred in the Patea distriot, and his first season's foals— now three years old -are splendid specimens of draught stock. He was foaled in 1885, got by Old Conqueror, dnm Olive. Olive, by Surprise out of Wellington mare, whose dam was imported from Tasmania. Olive has taken four first prizes at Hawera A. & P. Shows, and has never been beaten in the show ring. Young Conqueror has taken first prize as a twoyear old at Hawera A. & P. Show, and bas not been in the show ring since. Young Conqueror has a splendid constitution, is a sure foal getter, and is thoroughly staunch in any kind of harness He has been carting from Patea Meat Canning Works to Patea Railway Station for over two years, and during that time has very frequently taken loads of over two tons dead weight singlehanded.
