Feilding Fire Brigade.

i - i The ordinary monthly meeting of tho I above was held last evening, there being a good attendance Captain Eade occupied the chair. The miuutew of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A congratulatory letter was received from Mr W. A. Collins, lato Secretary of the Brigade. — Letter acknowledged. An offer was received from Mr C. L. Maclean to get up a concert for the benefit of the Brigade funds. — Offer accepted wth thanks. The Captain reported having sent for a V coupling, and the Secretary reported having written for six firemen's hatchets. The Deputation Committee reported having waited on the Borough Council re interests of the Brigade, but they had not yet received a reply. A donation of i'l Is was received from the Foresters', and an offer allowing the Brigade the use of the back portion of the Foresters' Hall to meet in. — Received with thanks. The sub-Committee handed in a report re hose reel. — The report was referred back to thorn for further information. It was resolved, on the motion of Fireman Garlick, to hold meetings and practises at 7 p.m., instead of 7.80 p.m., in future. One new member Avas elected aud three proposed for election at next meeting. The Building Committee reported that an engine shed had been erected iv the Square, next Mr Taylor's shop, at a cost of X' 4, and the engine placed there. Accounts for painting ladders and making twenty five spanners were paused for payment and the meeting adjourned.
