TARIFF DISPUTES. [per press association. 1 Vienna, October 31. The Russian Ambasador has protested against the Austrian Government admitting Australian meat whilst excluding Russian aud Roumanian. London. November 1. The Times thinks that tho Victorian j tax proposals ought to be accompanied by simultaneous reduction of the tariff, as the Protection policy has proved totally inadequate to meet the financial necessities of the colony. The Queen's Bench has granted the proprietor of the Empire Music Hall a rule nisi agaiust the London County Council on an application for a re-hear-ing of tho case. The affidavits alleged that two members of the Council inspired some of tho principal witnesses for prosecution.
