Stock Markets.
Mr Charles Carr reports as follows :— I held stock sales at Birmingham and Feilding on the 9th and 12th instants respectively. At Birmingham a fafc number of cattle came forward hut only a few pens of sheep. Bidding was very slack but I sold nearly everything after the sale. At Feilding the yards were* well filled with a useful class of young stock, about 600 being penned. Although bidding was slack, I sold about 400 head mostly after the sale. Only 1200 sheep came forward which sold at recent prices : — Birmingham. — Cattle : l&mQptha Steers, £2 12s; 8-year heifers, £9 15s j cows, £8 to £8 10s ; 2.year steers. 48 4s 6d ; weaners, 85s ; 2£-year steers, £3 14s fid. Sheep : Hoggets, 7s to 8s 4d ; wethers, 12s 2d. Feilding.— Cattle: weaners, 28s to 345 ; yearlings and 18-months, £2 8s to £2 7s 6d ; 2^-year steers, £8 6s 6d to £'6 10s ; cows, £8 to £8 ss ; springers and heifers, M 10s to £5 ; fat bullocks, £1 ; milch cows, £5 to £1 10s. Sheep : Fat ewes in wool, 12s ; 5s 8d to 9s lOd ; ewes and lambs, lambs given in (cull), 7s 9d. Messrs Abraham and Williams report :— Horses were plentiful on Saturday at our yards, but the demand was very slow.
