Wanganui Education Board.
_^ - The ordinary monthly meeting of the Education Board was commenced last evening. Present.— Messrs J. Notman (chairman), Sanson, Bridge, Baker, Fry, Carson, Hurley, Beckett, and Rev. J. Ross. Financial.— The cash statement, as follows, was laid on the table :— General accounts, credit balance, 4,1868 ls 8d ; liabilities,' £405: leaving £1459 ls Bd. Building account, debit balance, £270 10s fid ; liabilities, £155 9s 6d. The Board went iuto Committee to consider appointments. Porewa. — Appointment of Mr A. H. | Powell confirmed. J Glen Nevis. -Appointment of Miss M. Farr confirmed. Oroua Bridge. -Resignation of Mr R. Stonehouse confirmed. Matapu. — Resolved that Mr P. 0. Day be appointed teacher. Paiaka (aided school).— Appointment of Miss J. Mclntyre, of Welhngton, approved. Mangamahu. — Resignation of Miss Peffers accepted with regret ; appointment to be offered to Miss Slattery, of Momohaki. Te Roti and Kapuni. —Resolved that the Chairman endeavour to arrange for an exchange of the teachers at these schools. j Kakaraniea— Miss Snellingto be transferred from Eltham. Campbelltown. — Earnest Jarvis ap. pointed cadet. The Board aejourned until 10 o'clock this morning. — Chronicle.
