Stuck to her Church.

A Presbyterian laay, says a San Francisco contemporary, has just caused a decision by the church to which she belonged, and by the Presbytery which sustained the church, to be reversed by the Synod, which in turn was sustained by the General Assembly. The case is known as the Saaie Means case. Miss Sadie Means was employed in the telephone exchange ia Columbia. S.C., and her duties required an attendance at the office a few hours each Sunday. She was. however, regular in her attendance upon church service, and, except in the matter of Sunday work, was an exceptionable member of the church. But the minister, and some of the elders, did not think that Sunday work was compatible with her religious professions. She was given tbe alternative of throwing up her position or her membership in church She declined to do ntither and was ultimately expelled. Phe annealed her case to the Presbytery and lost it again. From the Presbytery it went to the Synod, where the Presbytery decision was reversed. The church, now warmed up, took the case to tbe General assembly, which recently held a session at Nashville, Term., and there made another losing. The discussion was hot, but tbe telephone young lady won. She is now reinstated in her beloved church and answers telephone calls with all her former sweetness of tone. The les9on of tbis is that woman is the coming man.
