Pohangina Public Hail.
At the Wanganui Harbor Board meeting yesterday a communication was read from the Pohangina Public Hall Committee, stating that the settlers and residents of Pohangina were about to take steps to raise means to erect a public hall. They asked that the Board grant them a section for this purpose, believing that if a hall were erected on one of these sections it would enhance the value of the adjacent sections. This opinion was held generally by the members of the Board, but the question of the Board's power to grant a lease cropped up. Ultimately on the sug« gestion of Mr Jackson, it was resolved to reply to the acting-secretary that the feeling of the Board was to lease this section for this purpose at a low rent and would consult the Commissioner of Lands as to how this wish could be given effect to.
