Meeting of Racing Club Delegates.

» A meeting of delegates from the various racing clubs in the district was held in tho White Hart Hotel, Marton, yesterday, to consider the proposed redaction of meetings in the district, Mr J. G. Wilson, M,H,R , convener of the meeting and representative of country clubs at the Racing Conference, occupied the chair. The following clubs were represented: — Manawatu, by Messrs PringJe and Hankins ; Feilding, Messrs E. Goodbehere and W. A. L. Bailey ; Rangitikei, McLean ; Sandon, Coyle ; Ashurst, Cotter ; Marton, T. Watt ; Marton Hunt Club, C. Johnston and Riddiford; Fordell, Morse ; Waverley, W. Wilson ; Foxton, Macmillan. Turakina was not represented, and only one delegate from each club was allowed to vote or speak. Motions wer.e passed instructing their delegate to give notice pf mqtion at the Conference, to be held in phristchurch in November, that the Metropolitan Club consist of thirteen delegates (six to be appointed by the' Wanganui -Club and seven by country clubs) ; also, with reference to the election pf a New Zealand Jockey Club, that it consist of tyre members to be elected by clubs throughout thp Cplqny. A lengthy discussion tpc^c place a*s to the reduction of meetings, it being ultimately decided that the num : ber of meetings in each year be as follows :— Manawatu, two ; Feilding, Rangitikei, Marton, Marton Hunt Club, Sandon, Foxton, Fordell, and Waverley, one each ; Wauganui, three ; Ashurst and Turakina being struck out. aOn last year's racing the reduction is as follows :— Feilding, Foxton, Marton, aud Rtogitikei Wee on* meeting 'eacb* : '
