HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House met at 2.30. In reply to Mr Mills Mr Seddon said it was the intention of the Government to introduce a Representation Act Amendment Bill which would proride for setting up a special commission to adjust the whole of the electoral boundaries in the colony. The debate on the second reading of the New Zealand Consols Bill occupied the rest of the afternoon. The House resumed at 7.30. After further debate the 2nd reading of the New Zealand Consols Bill was carried by 39 to 23. Mr Ward in course of his reply said be was prepared to strike out clause 7 providing that the money raised by conslos should be paid into the Consolidated Fund and clause 35 with reference to the conversion of the money into stocks. After a short debate the Foreign Insurance Company's Deposit Bill was read a second time. The Inspection of Machinery Act Ameudment Bill, and School Attendance Bill were committed without any material amendment and was read a third time and passed. j The House rose at 2 a.m. j
