(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Sept. 19. Mr J 6 Wilson brought before the Railways Committed the advisability of facilitating the railway service between Wellington and New Plymouth. The Wellington-Manawatu Railway offered to run another passenger train for a subsidy of £4000 per year. The Committed decided after hearing the evidence of the Chief Railway Commissioner . and the Chairman of the Manawatu Railway Company, that it was of opinion an improvement in the service was necessary but could not recommend the payment of a subsidy to the Manawatu Company, though it suggested that the service on the Government lines be improved.
