« . MESSRS HATRICK'S NEW RIVER STEAMER. (PEB PRRS.« ASSOCIATION.) Wanganui, This Day. Messrs Hatrick and Co.'s new sternwheel river steamer, Manawai, was successfully launched this morning in the presence of seven hundred townspeople. The steamer is 121 foot long, with beam 18 feet, estimated draught 12 inches, and speed 11£ miles an hour. A coat was found on the beach at Nukumaru containing the discharge papers of R. McKay, A.8., wrecked in the schooner Christine. It is expected some of the bodies will be washed up on the beach next spring tides between Wanganui and Nukumaru.
