The football match— North y. South —to be played on the Oval to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 3 o clock, is causing come interest amODgat footballers in the Manawatu Uuion, and there should be a large attendance of spectators. The ground is in good order, and a first-class game may be expected Mr A. 1> Thompson, a veteran footballer, who is now in Wanganui, has consented to act as referee. Mr Courtney, immigration agent, has written to the Taranaki Rugby Union offering to take the present Taranaki team for a tour through Great Britain. He guarantees to pay all expenses, and give each man £3 per week for his services. Mr Courtney thinks it wuld be a splendid advertisement for New Plymouth if the Taranaki footballers could be induced to pay a visit to England.
