Mr Powers gave notice of motion, That the suspension of seven members was not in accordance with the Standing Orders. The House then went into Committee on the Peace Preservation Bill. Mr Glassey's amendment, to alter the title of the measure to Coercion Bill, was rejected by 33 to J7. The closure was applied before the title passed, and the whole Opposition then left the Chamber in a body, amidst vociferous cheers from the public galleries. Mr Kerr was suspended for seven days for defying the Chairman.
