St. John's Pantomime Company.

At the Assembly Booms last evening the St. John's Pantomime and Burlesque Company were greeted on their first appearance in Feilding by a fairly good house, which would, no doubt, have been much better had the prices of admission been advertised at a lower rate. The company brought a great reputation with them for burlesque acting, and this they fully upheld by their performance last night. The various characters in the ever -laughable piece " Sinbad, the Sailor," were fully sustained by capable artists. The role of "The Princess" was filled by Miss Florrie St. Clair, while Miss Ada Lempriere upheld the character of "Sinbad, the Sailor" with credit to herself and the company. Mr T. C. Callaghan as the " Caliph " was a host in himself, singing and acting very well indeed. Mr John Tudor, as .the funny man in the company, kept the audience in roars of laughter in the amusing representation of " Tinbad, the Tailor." The company is a very superior one, and gives a great variety, including the clever tumbling of the Connor Bros. Several of the comic songs were encored, and those present were kept so well interested and amused that the end of the play had arrived without being noticed. At the conclusion of the burlesque, an amusing harlequinade was staged, with Mr J. Tudor, as " Clown," to the fore. He kept the audience in roars of laughter from first to last.
