Wanganui Education Board.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board was commenced last evening. Present. - Messrs Notman (chairman), Sanson, Bridge, Fry Baker, Carson, Hurley and Beckett. Foxton—Resolved that the Executive Committee grant one month's leave to Miss J. Ray, ou receipt of medical certificate. Application.—Resolved that the name of L. Pope bu placed on tho list of applicants. Carnarvon.—Resolved that Mr G. S. Harper, late teacher at this school, bo paid the amount of his salary withheld. ! Palmerston. Resolved that the Committee be informed that the Board will place it on the name footing as tho Wanganui Committee, that is, will grant it pound for pound up to £3 for each of the three sohools tor drill instruction, the grant to be for one year. Kapuni - Resolved that the Committee be informed that the Board is endeavouring to arrange for the removal to another school of the teacher. Bunnythorpe. —Resolved that Mr Espiner be informed that the Board cannot give him any guarantee that they will purchase at cost price, a residence he proposes to erect, or that they will not erect a residence of their own during the existence of his; but they think they may assure him that it is extremely improbable that they will build for some years to come-—Chronicle.
