A Daring Robbery in Dunedin.
[ Per Press Association, j Dunedin, September, 9. A daring double robbery was committed on Sunday night or Sunday ■, morning. The private residence of Mr Harry L. James, assistant secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club, was entered and a silver watch and chain and some cash in Mrs James' purse was stolen. The real object, < however, was to get Mr James' keys. The burglars, who had affectel an ' entrance by the window at the back, passed through the servant's room and along the passage into a room where Mr and Mrs James were sleeping, and taking away Mr James' trousers secured the keys of the Dunedin Jockey Club's office, in Rattray street. Throwing the garment down in the back yard the thief or thieves then went to the Jockey Club's office, and by means of the key? gained admittance and secured money and cheques to the value of L3OO. Of this, about L 123 was in cash. The robbery was evidently carefully planned and timed to secure tbe takings at the Hunt Club meeting.
