(I'EU PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wi ixixgton, This Day. At the oflicial reception of the New South Wales Football team, there was a large attendance of the public including the Mayor, City Councillors, several Members of Parliament, leading citizens aud representatives of all branches of sport Owing to the late hour the House rose no members of tho Government were present. The Mayor, Capt. RusscU, Mr H. D. Bell, President of the local Union, E. D. Hobeu, secretary of the New Zealand L'niou, .spoke extending a hearty welcome. The manager for the visitors iv reply attributed their non-success to the superior back play of the New Zealand men.
