Deputation to the Premier.

(Per Press* Association.) Wellisotow, September 4. A. deputation of ministers ancTother* from the Wesleyan Conference interviewed the Premier to-night, and asked that the age of consent should be raised to 18 years. The Premier replied that it would be useless to make a law which would only b* brpken, but that he thought the age should be 16 years instead of 15 (as now fixed in the Criminal Code Bill), and tbat an amendment in that direction; would l be insisted on by the Government.
