W'ANGANUI-MANAWATU v. NEW SOUTH WALES. (per press association.) Waa'Ganui, September 3 The weather was wretchedly cold for tbe match New «>uth Wales v Wanganui- Manawatu, but oue of the greatest crowds ever seeu o the Re creation ground assembled t3 witness it. The game was auything but gentle but; the home team were up to their work, and won by 13 to nil. The score was made up of two penalty goals, ono try and a potted goal. Duncan kicked the two penalties, Isherwood scored the try, and the pot was lauded liy Duncan. Well on in the second •half Braundof New South Wales had his shoulder hurt and had to retire. Mr Weekes refereed, and Messrs Sef tou (N.S.W.), aud Townsend (Wanganui) acted as line umpires Nelson. Sept. 3. The football match Christchurch High School v. Nelson Collego was played today, Nelson College winning by 12 points to 8. Auckland, Septembers. The Wellington footballers left for New Plymouth by the Takapuna this morning. They play Taranaki at Hawera on Wednesday next. On the Oval to-morrow a match will be played between teams repre seiiting the Half holiday Association and the Buckiughum Palace Boarding House.
