HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House met at 2.30. \ In reply to questions it was stated the House would be afforded an opportunity of considering the question of one electorate one representative; That the Fencing Bill would not be introduced this session. On tbe motion that the Honse go into Committee of Supply, Mr E. M. Smith moved an amendment •' That the time has arrived when the House should take up the financial position of the New Plymouth Harbor Board and| grant relief." After a short discussion the amendment was lost on the voices and the House went into Committee of Supply for tho further consideration of the estimates. Ibe House resumed at 7 30. In Committee on the Education Department's estimates, which were under discussion for several hours, Mr Reeves again expressed a.strong opinion in favor of centralisation. Eventually the total vote, amounting to _ 444,535, was passed without alteration. The rest of the Estimates were passed without much discussion. Progress was reported, and the House rose at 1.45.
