Protecting Whitebait.
♦ (IKB PRKBM ASSOCIATION I. Wellington, Auaust 30. j Aa Order-in-Council makes the follow- . ing resolution under the Fisheries Congervitiou Act with reference to whiiebait : — (1) No scrim or whitebait net shall be used as a eet net or be sot or placed in openings made in bmks, rivers or stieau>B or id dams constructed therein, and no scrims and vets hayiug openings of more than fira square foet shall be u^eJ for tne purpose of catching whitebait ; (2) Any person committing a breach of the ab:ive regulation will bo liable to a penalty cot exceeding fifty pound"
