(Per Press Association) AUCKL4.ND, A.u«n.«t 30. At Central Wairoa, the Secretary of the Gum Diggers' Union reported an interview he had, according to the instructions of the Union, with two members of the Hobson County Council re County contracts being let to British subjects only. The Chairman of the Hobson County Council assured the Secretary that his sympathies were entirely with his own people, and promised to bringdown a resolution at next meeting of the County Council to the effect that all County contracts in future be let to British subjects only. Two other Councillors have promised to do something in this direction.
