A Rough Passage.
(Per Press Association.) Napier, August 20. The schooner Heroine, 122 tons, Mason ma-ter, with ironbark piles, arrived from Sydney to day, after a most tempestuous voyage. She laft Sydney on August 2nd and had heavy gales to Cape Palli*er, which she rounded on the 13tb. The gales and heavy teas continued, and she began to make water She was driven 66 miles past Portland Lifcht, and on the 20th was in a very dangerous position. In the evening the foremast and topmast went over th* side along with the jibboom. A little later the tiller carried awaj. Everything was washed overboard. A jury -mast was rigged when the gale abated aud with a temporary tiller •he fiaally aucceeded in making the Bay this morning.
