The American Tariff.
THE TARIFF BILL BECOMES LAW. (Per Press Association.) Washington, August 28. The Tariff Bill became law at midnight by effluxiou of time. Tho President declined to sign the measure, though he admitted it was vastly superior to the McKiuley Bill. He desires to see the free admission of raw materials, and will wage a further fight for tariff reform. He states the action of the Sugar Trust will never be forgotten iv the United States.
