Harbour Board Block.

A PLEASANT GATHERING. One of the most pleasant gatherings ever held in the Harbour Board took place on Friday evening last, when Mr and Mrs Pollock entertained their friends of the Harbor Board Block and surrounding district, on the anniversary of their eighteenth wedding day, with a dance and supper. About 40 couples availed themselves of the hospitality, and did full justice to the bountiful repast that was provided. Altogether the affair was a great success, dancing being indulged in till 5 a.m. During tho evening a number of songs and recitationn were given, which greatly added to the enjoyment of those present. The ladies were very tastefully dressed, those most admired being Mrs Pollock, Mrs Myers, Mrs Finnis, Mrs L. Brown, Mrs Burgess, Mrs Shannon, Mrs Stewart, Mrs Denton, Mrs Oakley, Mrs Harrison, Mrs Hall and many others too numerous to mention. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr and Mrs Pollock for their kindness, to Mr E. T. Harrison for the use of his woolshed, and to Mr T. W. Denton for the music he provided. The company dispersed at 5 a.m. after singing •' Auld Lang Syne."
