« Lowes and Irons report on their Masterton stock sale aa under:— Our yards were well filled with both sheep and cattle of good quality, and the sale was spirited throughout. Prices, have an upward tendency. Goog business may be anticipated durinjj the spring months. Fat wethers, brought |rooi 12s Qd to 13s 3d; forward do, 11s 6d to Us 9d ; eves from 9s 5d to 10s 3d ; ewes in lamb, 7s 8d to 10a 6d ; hoggets, 5s Id to 9s Id, In catcle the entries were much exceeded, 250 head being yarded and sold, but it is a little early in the season for grown steers. Three year-old steers, L 5 10s ; two year-olds, 653 to 70 f t yearlings, 37s to 5Qa ; dairy heifers and cows, from 9.0s to £S • youug heifers, from 66s to 925 ; breed! ing cows, 92s 6d to lQOs; wenners, 28s 6d to 31s 6d. Horses were very unsaleable. Draught, £[Q to X#2l : hacks, not quotable. -
