The Gaming Bill.

At a meeting of the committee o the Dunedin Jockey Club, the follow ing resolution was passed regardin; the new sub-section to clause 6 of th Gaming Bill, ai^horising the Colonia Secretary to delegate his powers re lating to the issue of totalisator linen ses to the New Zealand Jockey Club — " The Dunedin Jockey Club througl its committee, is still unanimous in its opinion that a New Zealand Jocbej Club is unnecessary, more especially under the present system of conference of delegates from all clubs, anc BtTOßgty protests against the proposed new sub-section. The Dunedin Jockej Club if perfectly satisfied with the present system of the issue of totaiisatoi licenses by the Colonial Secretary." It was decided to communicate with the Auckland Racing Club, asking if that Club will send a delegate to Wellington to meet a delegate from the Dunedin Jockey Club to use influence to prevent the passing of the new subsection to clause 6 of the Gaming Bill.
