[PEE PBKS9 ASSOCIATION.! Wellington, August 21. In the House the Hon Mr Ward recently stated that an officer occupying a high position in one of the Australian banks was a director of the Evening Press Tho gentleman referred to has written to Mr Ward stating that he is not a director, but that he took shares in the paper in the interests of Temperance and on the understanding that the paper was to be non- political. He also expressed concurrence in the remarks made by the Colonial Treasurer as to the article in question.
