The Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their horse sale as follows : — A moderate number came forward. The bulk were second sorts to inferior. There was a very fair demand right through for all classes, the greater portion of the entry changing hands. Spring-cart horses, £10 to £13 \ second rate hacks, £4 to £7 ; inferior, £2 to £3. Messrs Nolan, Tonks and Co., of Hawera, quote — At Eltham — Calves, 1 3s to 20s ; weaners, 34s to 40s ; yearlings, £2 to 6s ; 2-year heifers, £2 14s to £3; 3-year springers, £4 10s to £5 15s ; cows and calves, £4 6s ; 2-year steers, £3 2s to £3 6s. At Hawera — Weaners, 34s to 38s ; yearlings, mixed sexes, 39s to 445 ; 2yenr steers, £3 os to £3 8s 6d ; 2^« year heifers, £3 12s 6d to £4; springera, £5 to £6 10s; store cows, £3 to 5s ; cows, at calving, £3 lls to £3 15s; cows and calves, £4 ss. Sheep — Hoggets, 6s Id to 8s 3d ; store ewes, 4s 6d ; aged ewes, in larab, 9a. Messrs Gorton and Sod's stock report : — In spite of the bad weather the stock came forward at our Camp belltown sale on Friday and we on the whole held a very fair sale. On Saturday we offered at Feildiog about 25 horses. Messrs Hocken Bros., as usual, brought those they had for sale forward in splendid order. Those Mr Hoult brought from Christchurch unfortunately got down in the truck coming up from Wei lington and interfered somewhat with their sale, though we were able to j sell 3or 4 of them. Our quotations are: — Campbelltown — Cattle — Fat hoifers, L5 ss; milkers, L6 10s toL6 12s 6d ; 2-year heifers, L6 ; yearlings, 35s to L2 5s ; weaners, 255. Sheep — Hoggets, 5s to 78 3d ; fat owes, 9s 5d ; old ewes, 4s. Feildiug — Horses — Draught, Lid 10s to £23 ; harness horses, L7 to Ll7 ss.
