A match took place at Palmerston on Saturday between the Wangauui Collego team and the Kia Kahas. The game was played in a very friendly spirit, and resulted in a win for the horue team by 14 points to 8. Giesen obtained two tries, Howitt converting both ; Hewitt also kicked a goal from a mark. For the College, Willis scored a try. Marshall convorted, and he also kicked a goal from a penalty kick. I The Oroua Association Football Club will play a match with the Woodville Club, at Woodvillo, on Wednesday next. The following players will represent Oroua : — Goal, Gibson ; backs, J. C. and G. C. Hare ; halves, A. Gray, Nossiter, aud B. Beattie ; forwards, Myers (2), Burrell, Halcombe, Daniell. The team will leave by the 10.53 train and return tho same evening. On Saturday, Ist September, an Association matoh will bo played at Feildiug between the Wellington Swifts and the Oroua Club. A match was played on Mr Roe's paddock, at Aorangi, on Saturday afternoon between Maori teams from Awahuri and Awapnni. The game resulted in a victory for the former by 9 points (three tries) to 6 (two tries). The Manawatu Union have recommended the following players for a place in the North Island team in the match against New South W r ales: — Dupcan, Sanson, Smith.
