The Funeral of the Late Mrs Wm. L. Bailey.
The liuneral of the late Mrs William L. Bailey, of Taonui, took place yesterday afternoon. Although the weather was showery, the leading business, men of Feilding and settlers from the surrounding districts, to the number of about two hundred, joined in the cad procession as a mark of respect to Mr Bailey and his lamented wife. Previous to the procession starting a short service was held at Mr Bailey's residence, and on the arrival of the cortege at the grave an impressive burial service was read and prayer offered by the Rev. H. M. Murray, The casket containing the remains of the deceased lady was borne by her four eldest sons — James A., William L., Henry 8., and Afred E., Bailey — and two nephews, Walter A. and Frank O. Bailey, while Messrs W. A. L. and A. Bailey, brothers of Mr W. L. Bailey, attended as pall bearers. It was covered with numerous wreaths and crosses of flowers, sent by sympathising friends and relations. Mr A. Eade conducted the funeral.
