The Stock Market.
Messrs Gorton and Son report at follows : We had our advertised entries at the Balls sale on Monday, and at and after the sale we managed to quit most of the stock at fair prices. The rates at our last two sales sbow that young cattle are in demand. Oar quotations are : Cattle — Yearling steers, £2 Is; 18-month steers, £3 17s 6d; yearling heifers, £2 £d. Sheep— Hoggets, mixed, 7s 3d to 8s ) ewe hoggets, 7s 9d ; breeding ewes, is to 7s 3d. F. R. JACKSON & CO.'S REPORT. JOHNSONVILLE. Aujf. IS. At the sale to-day the bullocks entered were, with the exception of a few ' pens, only of a middling and inferior quality. Prices ruled on a par With those of last sale. Some good wethers were penned.
