•m Messrs Gorton and Son report : — Dining the last fortnight we have held four sales one at Marton, stock and horse sale at Feilding, and stock sale at Sandou on Tuesday. Our f uotations are ; — Cattle- Marton ; Fat cows, £i 15s ; fat small bullocks, £5 4s ; store cows, £2 10s. Feilding ; Fat cowi, £6 to £6 10s; store cows, £2 17s 6d ; milkerf, £5 2s 6d to £9; weaoers and yearlings, 32s 6d to 37s 6d. Sanson : 2s- year-steers, £3 Is ; weaner yearlings, various prices from 29s to £2 9s ; store cows, £2 IOs ; milkers, various prices, £4 lOs to £7 10s. Sheep. — Marton ; Ewes in lamb, 8s 3d to 8s 6d. Feilding : Forward wethers, llsGd; store wethers, 9s to 9s od ; mixed hoggets, various prices, from 6s 6d to 8s 1 Id ; wether hoggets, 6s 6d to 7s lid ; ewes in lamb, various prices, 4s 6d to 8s 6d. We had large entries of horses for our horse sale, and those in good condition ancl of a uueful class, such as the horsesi offered by Messrs Hocken Bros, sold well. Draughts brought from £18 to £22 10s; light draughts up to £14 12s 6d ; harness horses from £11 to £18 ; hacks brought small figures, no very good ones being offered. Mr Charles Carr held a stock sale at Birmingham last Tuesday. The bai roads prevented all the entries coming forward. Over 600 sheep advertised were not brought in. Heifers sold at £'l 15s to £5 10s ; milch cows from £5 to £6 7s 6d ; 2-yrold steers, £3 2s 6d ; springing heifers, £5 10s ; old ewe's f.n lamb, 4s 6d to 7s 6d.'
