NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington. August 3. At a meeting of the Programme Committee of the New South Wales representative team to-i'ight, letters were received from the New South Wales Union stating that they would be able to send over a very strong team. It was decided to play the South Canterbury match on Monday, September 10th. A special train was arranged ou the Midland line to take the team into Greymouth, also special steamers on the coast. It was decided to arrange a number of excursions in connection with the various matches and a steamer excursion to Christchurch for the New Zealand match. It was also decided to include Horowhenua m the field of selection for the Wanganui-Manawatu match, and the Bush districts in the field of selection for the Wairarapa match. The Appeal Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union has decided on on the questions submitted by Marlborough and Canterbury, that rule 19 applies to any player standing on his opponent's side of the ball when it is in the scrum, whether he be half, wing, three quarter, or full-back, and that any player so doing be penalised ; also, that the referee has power to override the decision of the touch-line judges.
