Destructive Fire at Greymouth.
(PEB PBKBB ASSOCIATION.! Gkeybiouth, This Day. A tire broke out this morning in the premises of North and Co., drapers, and rapidly spread to adjoining buildings, destroying seven business premises. The Co-operative store was also badly damaged. Had the flames got hold of the other side of Werida street, Oreymouth would have been rained, as a strong wind was blowing at the time. The insurances were as follows :— Royal, £600; North German, £250; South British, £800 ; Commercial Union, -£100 ; Manchester, £250 ; Norwich Union, I*soo (of which £250 is re-insured with Straits) ; N.Z. Insurance Co., £750 ; Imporial, .£950 ; Victoria, £450 (£2OO of risk re-insured with Alliance) ; Northern. £450; Standard, £500.
