London Markets.

Messrs Barraud and Abraham's London agents, R. T. Turnbull and Co., report under date London, 15th June, 1894 :—

Cocksfoot— There is no business passing, as buyers are now waiting to learn what the Continential and American out-turn is likely to be : all speculation has been stopped by the high prices demanded by sellers, who are holding such small quantities as are available, very firmly at our last quotations, and who decline to make offers " to arrive " at anything less.

Butter — Colonial. — W« are using a separate review of the season 1893-4, to which we invite your reference. French butter is in good supply, but, although prices have been cut down 6s to Bs, it is not eagerly sought after. Danish is in moderate request. The shipments still arriving from New Zealand and Australia are being mostly stored in refrigerated chambers. Quotations are : — Normanby, 80s to 90s per cwt ; Danish, 90s to 100s per cwt ; Australian, 80s to 84s per cwt ; New Zealand, 60s to 80s ; medium to fine.

Cheese — American is arriving freely, and prices are falling : finest only fetching 50s to 51s. New Zealunds are suffering consequently, and quoted at 48s to 545. The " Doric " brought 746 cases, and the " Buapehu " 6,105 cases. From Australia, the " Thermopylae" has just arrived with 2,634 cases, which will be on the market next week.
