« [PEB FEKB3 ASSOCIATION. I Wi llinoton, This Day. The Knights of Labour meeting passed resolutions urging Government to bring in a B 11 to compel local bodies to pay a living wage in all their contract?, and urging the establishment of a national system of fire insurance, and national paper currency ; that it would be an unwiae policy to borrow money for the purpose of carrying out any large scheme of public works ; that Government be requested to amend present Alcoholic Liquors Bill ; to repeal clause requiring half of those whose names appear on the roll to vote before an effect can be given towards retaining the clause in reference to three fifths ; that the M mister of Education be asked to prohibit married women, whose husbands died in a position to support them, from teaching in public schools. Several resolutions were also passed in reference to cooperative works
