Stock Markets.
Messrs Monteith and O'Meara report : — The extremely inclement weather of tbe last few days prevented several lines of stock entered from coming forward at our Palmerston sale yesterday, but, notwithstanding these adverse circumstances, we had a fairly good sale. The lines disposed of realised as follows : — Sheep — Forward and fat wethers, lls 9d ; good store do., 10s 9d ; cross-bred ewes, 8s 6d and 6s 6d ; lambs, 6s. Cattle— Weaners, 31s ; yearlings, £2 ; dairy cows, £6 to £7 15s.
Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Cos. report on their Johnsonville sale held yesterday : — Cattle came forward in usual numbers, and sod steadily throughout the sale. Cattle of large frame and medium to prime quality sold equal to 18s 6d the lOOlbs. Cattle—Prime beef, £8 to £8 17s (Id; medium, £7 10s to £8 ; smaller animals £7 ss. Sheep — The supply sold readily. Wethers, medium quality, 14s to 14s Bel ; prime, los lid.
