■**- THE FREETRADERS IN A MAJORITY. (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION ) Sydney, July 17There is tremendous excitement in the city to-night over tho elections. The Freetraders have carried the day in Syd ney and suburbs Of the 45 returns already completed, the Freetrade candidates have secured 34 seats, Protection G, and Labor o. The Labor camdates only obtained five seats in the city and suburbs, although generally regarded as their stronghold. This Day. Sir G. R. Dibbs' return for Tamwortb is practically assured. Returns for 108 seats are completed, leaving another 17 yet to come. So far the Freetraders have secured 56 seats, Protectionists 30, Labour 21, Independent 1. Sixty-three members of the last House are re-elected, aud forty-five are new faces. I -_*__— -------_---____— §
