That Frank Allen be informed that no road exists between section 24 and 45, Block XL, Apiti.— Vicary— BelL That the Board confirm the Engineer's decision in granting permission to Messrs Adsett and Son to fix a pipe under the Pohangina road to obtain a supply of water Browne— Arbon. ; 'j - That the Board strongly objects to contributing anything to the cost of constructing a bridge over the Kiwitea river, as the proposed work wilt not be of any direct benefit to the c Pohangina district. — Browne Bell. * ~ ENGINEER'S REPORT. • The Engineer reported that the roads generally throughout the whole district had been a source of trouble and expense during the month, slips coming down in every direction, and in some cases the outer part of the sidling road completely slipping away and thus leaving the roads almost too narrow for safe traffic. Ihe worst places he was endeavoring to put in order. The nonpayment of rates was a drawback to these works. As the limit of the overdraft had been nearly approached, unless the ratepayers paid their rates he did not sec how the roads could be kept open if the unfavorable weather lasted. TENDERS.
