A. G, Tame and Co., Wellington, report on the markets for the week ending July 13: — Fat sheep— Our business this week has been restricted to private sales. Prime wethers have changed hands at 14s, and are firmly held and further advances may be looked for. Fat ewes, 10s to 11s for prime ; 8s to 9s for medium. Store sheep — Wethers are now m better demand and readily saleable at 11s to 128; ordinary stores, 9s to 10s; store ewes in lamb, young and in good condition, 9s 6d to 10s 6d ; fm. ewes, 6s 6d to 7s 6d, according to age and condition. Lambs have moved up, 7s to 8s for best, 5s to 6s inferior ; culls, 3s upwards, and in good demand. Fat cattle are again on the move, demand from the South firming them up ; prime bullock beef is 19 per 1001 b. sellers holding for better prices. Store cattle— Good enquiries for fresh store bullocks. We have sold weaners 26s 6d ; yearlings, 40s ; two-year-olds, £3 ; fresh well-grown bullocks, £4 10s. Dairy cows are still in active de niand, and any number could be disposed of ; sales have taken place at £8 to £9 for young cows just calved, £6 10s for springers, and that price having been paid for gome good heifers. Tallow, 18s to 20s for best; medium, 15s to 18s. Mr Chas. Carr reports on his stock sale held at Feildiug ou Friday, July 13th : I held a very large sale ot stock on the above date, the yards being well filled with good classes of both cattle and sheep. About one hundred and sixty head of cattle and seven thousand sheep were yarded. The young caitle were iv demand and sold at recent values. The supply of sheep proved to be rather greater than the deiuand an 4 the rise in prices during the last few weeks induced vendors to put on high reserves. However, I managed to qvit a large number at the following prices : Cattle — Wcauers, 25s to 345 ; 2-year steers, £3 4s; springing heifers, £5 11s to £6; milch cows, £4. to £5 10s ; forward bullocks, X"U 6s, Sheep : Shorn lambs, 4s 6d to 6s ll)d ; woolly, 6s 5d to 6s lOd ; full mouth ewes iv lamb, very suporior, lls ; 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes iv lamb, 11s 9d.
